‘6 points in the 1st inning’ Samsung wins 3 times in a row after 1 loss… I see KS winning for the first time in 12 years.

(Daegu = Yonhap News) Reporters Cheon Byeong-hyuk, Kim Kyung-yoon, and Kim Dong-han = The Samsung Lions are on the verge of winning the Korean Series (KS, 4 wins out of 7 games) for the first time in 12 years.

Samsung defeated KT Wiz 10-5 in Game 4 of the 2026 Shinhan SOL KBO Postseason Korean Series held at Samsung Lions Park in Daegu on the 7th.

As a result, Samsung, which has won three games in a row after one loss, needs just one more win in the remaining games 5 to 7 to return to the top of the Korean Series for the first time in 12 years since 2014.

In past Korean series, the team that won games 2 to 4 after losing game 1 had a 100% chance of winning (6 out of 6).

In Game 4, KT took the lead, but Samsung immediately turned the tide.

After one out in the top of the first inning, KT took a 1-0 lead with Jang Jin-hyuk hitting a solo home run.

However, after changing offense and defense, Samsung took the lead and scored 6 points to quickly turn the tables.

In the bottom of the first inning, with two outs and runners on first and second base, Lewin Diaz and Kim Young-woong hit consecutive hits to make it 2-1.

With the bases loaded and 2 outs, Samsung added 1 point with Ryu Ji-hyuk hitting a ball to the body, and while KT's Ahn Hyun-min missed the follow-up hitter Kim Do-hwan's fly ball to right field due to an error in judgment, all three runners hit home and ran away with a 6-1 lead.

Samsung took the win early in the bottom of the third inning, adding one point thanks to Park Seung-gyu's timely hit.

KT, which was being dragged, started to chase after Samsung removed starter Jang Chan-hee and activated the bullpen in the top of the 5th inning.

KT made up for 3 points with 1 hit and 5 walks against Samsung's Satoshi Miyamori and Chan-seung Bae, trailing 4-7.

KT continued to have opportunities to load the bases with one out, but Samsung put out the fire in a hurry when Lee Jae-hee, who came on as a relief pitcher, struck out and hit an infield fly ball.

Samsung, which avoided giving up a large number of runs, ran away with a 9-4 lead again in the bottom of the 5th inning with 2 outs and runners on 1st and 2nd bases when Seung-gyu Park hit a 2-RBI double that hit the left fence.

In the bottom of the 7th inning, Koo Ja-wook brought in Park Seung-gyu, who had hit a single to right, with a double to left-center to tie the game.

In the top of the 8th inning, KT's pinch hitter Kim Min-hyuk made a dominant solo arc, but they could not chase it any further.

Neither team's starting pitchers were able to create conditions for victory.

Jang Chan-hee, a 19-year-old high school graduate rookie who started for Samsung, did well until the 4th inning, allowing 2 hits, 2 walks, and 1 run.

Jaehee Lee pitched 2⅔ innings with 4 strikeouts and no hits and no runs.

KT starter Logan Allen gave up 6 runs in 1 inning with 5 hits and 4 walks and was eliminated.

On this day, both teams threw 19 outs and outs, breaking the record for the most outs and outs in the Korean Series.

In particular, KT's pitchers destroyed themselves by throwing out 12 walks and walks.

Samsung Lions Park, where Game 4 was held, sold all 23,550 seats, recording a cumulative attendance of 276,050 this postseason.

Fall baseball has sold out 50 consecutive games since the first game of the 2023 Korean Series, and for the Korean Series alone, 25 consecutive games have been sold out since the first game of the 2022 Korean Series.

Game 5 of the Korean Series, where the fate of Samsung and KT will depend, will be held at the same location at 2pm on the 8th.
