[Reporter Luo Zhipeng/Reporting from Taipei] The secret weapon hidden in Taiwan's big-game Dragons bullpen is the 22-year-old undercut pitcher and "Red Submarine" Lin Baiyu. He has pitched a total of 6.1 innings in 8 games this season, with a record of 1 win, 1 reliever, and an ERA of 1.42.

Why was Lin Baiyou included in the 32-man roster? Dragons head coach Ye Junzhang explained, "I think he has a big heart. The reason why he was selected in the draft was because Pingzhen High School head coach Wu Baihong said that Lin Baiyou shot very well in many situations. This is a very important reason. Now it seems that it is true (with a big heart)." In 2023, Lin Baiyou graduated from Pingzhen High School and was selected in the sixth round of the draft by the Dragons.

Named "big-hearted" by Ye Junzhang and Wu Baihong, Lin Baiyou said, "I am not easily nervous in the first place, and I will not be upset just because I voted for the Taiwan Contest. My seniors encouraged me to do what I usually do, and don't do anything special just because I think it is a Taiwan Contest."

Entering the Taiwan competition for the first time, Lin Baiyou said that he was very happy. His performance this year was pretty good, at least very stable, and within expectations. The Taiwan competition depends on when the coaching staff arranges to play, and how well they play their roles.

Lin Baiyou was a Lamigo fan when he was a child. The most impressive Taiwan competition was when Peach Monkey won three consecutive championships. His idol was Lin Zhisheng. He also admired Chen Junxiu. Lin Baiyou had the opportunity to face Chen Junxiu in the Taiwan competition. He said, "Senior Junxiu is very good. He has been playing for a long time since elementary school in our country. Now I have the opportunity to face off. It feels very special."
