Kaohsiung Riding the Wind Sanmin Market launches Sanmin Roaming Bike Tour on October 17

2026 Kaohsiung Riding the Wind launched the "Sanmin Roaming Cycling Tour" on October 17, planning a city cycling tour of about 8 kilometers, leading the public to explore Hakka culture from riverside ecology to railway history.

Tourism Director Gao Minlin said that Kaohsiung Ride with the Wind uses themed cycling tours to connect the natural ecology, history, culture and local characteristics of each administrative region, allowing the public to understand urban development and local environmental changes through slow cycling.

The Tourism Bureau explained that with the underground railway and the reconstruction of Kaohsiung Station in Sanmin District, the original ground railway space has been gradually transformed into a green parkway and urban open space. The Zhongdu Wetland Park adjacent to the Love River used to be a plywood factory and wood storage area. After industrial transformation and environmental reconstruction, it has become an urban green space with both ecological restoration and leisure and recreation functions.

Panhua Park will be transformed into the home of the "Hakka Party" on that day, launching cultural handicraft experiences such as paper umbrella painting, Hakka floral fabric sachets, and red rice cake magnets. Demonstrations of rice cake pounding and Hakka tea making will also be arranged. Hakka crafts, food and life culture will be integrated into the activities, allowing families to understand the characteristics of Hakka culture through handicrafts and cultural experiences.

During the cycling tour, a cycling party market and stage performances will be simultaneously launched on-site, and local Kaohsiung group "Rouji Avocado", independent music singer-songwriter Zhuang Qiaoyan and super idol singer Chen Jian will be invited to perform one after another.

In response to the approaching Double Ninth Festival, Sanmin Market has specially launched the "Double Ninth Festival Chicken Riding" event, continuing the popular roast chicken event at Guanyin Lake this year. As long as two people sign up for the bicycle tour together, and one of them is over 65 years old, they can get a popular roast chicken. The first wave is limited to 10 groups. Children are invited to accompany their elders to ride bicycles and visit Sanmin, enjoy outdoor leisure in the autumn afternoon, and create travel memories across generations.
