Chen Longbiao, president of the Tea Industry Association of Nodou Town, Fuding City, said that the value of this batch of destroyed tea was about 2 million yuan. Today is the first batch, and they will be destroyed every day. "This proves that we are confident in not letting 'bubble tea' flow into the market."

Affected by the extremely heavy rainfall brought by Typhoon "Shadr", shops in the market town of Nodou Town, tea storage points, packaging companies, and factories along the river bank were all damaged to varying degrees. Fuding City organized disaster surveys on a door-to-door basis to conduct detailed statistics on damage.

"Many silver needles and peonies have been soaked in water, and there is no way to count them now." Wu Anshou, owner of Wu Antai Tea Shop in Nodou Town, said that the tea leaves are all kept here and all are destroyed.

Zhou Ruirong, the relevant person in charge of Fuding Shenmiao Tea Co., Ltd. said that the tea leaves soaked in water are all handed over to the Nodou Town Tea Association for centralized destruction. "Quality is the most important. Even if it is only slightly stained with water, we will dispose of it all."

Many local tea farmers interviewed also had a clear attitude, "We can afford to lose the goods, we cannot afford to lose the reputation, we must stick to the bottom line and leave no future troubles."

Fuding City is one of the most important core production areas of white tea in China, with a long history of white tea. Official data shows that in 2025, the harvestable area of ​​Fuding's tea gardens will stabilize at 320,000 acres, the total tea output will be 40,000 tons, and the comprehensive output value of the tea industry will exceed 15.5 billion yuan. There are now more than 3,400 tea processing companies, which have increased the income of 380,000 tea-related practitioners. There are 12,000 sales outlets nationwide and more than 105,000 stable jobs.

In response to this disaster, Fuding officials are adhering to both emergency and disaster relief efforts as well as corporate bailouts, and have made it a current priority to help disaster-stricken tea companies and merchants resume production and operations. This includes comprehensively identifying the actual difficulties of disaster-stricken entities and cooperating with financial institutions to provide financial support; coordinating a team of technical experts to provide on-site technical guidance to help qualified merchants and tea companies resume work as soon as possible; studying special industry support policies for disaster-stricken business entities to help enterprises tide over difficulties.
