Hong Kong has always had a simple answer to what young people should do with their lives: study hard, get a job, work harder, buy a flat and eventually complain about the next generation. That formula is becoming harder to sell.
A whole lexicon has grown up around Generation Z’s uneasy relationship with work. In mainland China, there are “full-time children”, young adults who stay home and receive an allowance from their parents in return for doing household chores and running errands. Elsewhere, there is the “kangaroo tribe”, an updated version of adults remaining financially dependent on their parents. There are Neets, or young people not in education, employment or training.
While the labels differ, the underlying phenomenon is harder to ignore. More young adults are struggling to make the traditional transition to independence.
Hong Kong offers an especially revealing case. Consider university graduates with a respectable degree and little work experience. They apply for dozens of jobs, perhaps hundreds, only to find that “entry level” increasingly means “entry level for someone who already has experience”.
Employers want experienced workers, but young people need jobs to gain that experience. A position for fresh graduates can demand several years of achievements before an applicant has even had a chance to begin.
Against this backdrop, becoming a full-time child looks less absurd than it sounds. If a young adult can stay at home, avoid Hong Kong’s punishing housing costs, receive an allowance and help around the house, why rush into a poorly paid job with little security and even less prospect of progression?

The financial insurance index soared 7.34% in a single week, closing at 3522.36 points. Due to the high-end shocks in electronic stocks and the rising geopolitical risk aversion, funds have shifted to financial stocks. In addition, this year's growth still lags behind the broader market, which has set off gold holdings to make up for the gains, and the prices of five gold holdings have reached record highs.

Taiwanese creators are launching original mecha toys and game IPs, such as the Shinji Ji Doden series and A.N.R.S-Heroes Assemble, in an attempt to compete in local and overseas markets. Although they face competition from Japanese classic IPs and low-priced Chinese products, they are still optimistic about the Southeast Asian market and collectors' needs.

In response to a stronger-than-expected employment report, U.S. President Trump threatened to take action against countries with trade deficits if interest rates are not cut. However, Evercore ISI analysis pointed out that the asset market basically ignored the announcement and regarded it as an emotional vent rather than a real threat. It has no impact on the probability of raising interest rates, bond yields, the stock market, or the US dollar. Although his renewed pressure may complicate the situation of Federal Reserve Chairman Wash, the interest rate decision still depends on the upcoming inflation report.

Taiwanese Wendan pomelo arrives in Nanjing 24 hours a day via a direct cargo flight from Ningtai to Nanjing for opening and sales. Relying on the Ning-Taiwan direct flight scheduled all-cargo air channel, Wendan pomelo from Hualien, Taiwan, was opened in Nanjing on September 5. The whole process from picking in Taiwan orchards, completing customs clearance, and arriving at the Nanjing Agricultural and Sideline Products Logistics Center took less than 24 hours, saving nearly a week compared to traditional methods. This move is a concrete action taken by Nanjing to implement ten policies and measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation issued by the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in April, aiming to provide convenience for Taiwanese agricultural and fishery products that meet inspection and quarantine standards. Nanjing Transportation Group, Nanjing Lukou International Airport Customs, Nanjing Agricultural and Sideline Products Logistics Center and other units collaborated to create air logistics channels and green customs clearance mechanisms. Meng Pengjiu, general manager of Nanjing Ningtai Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., revealed that his team has been working on the introduction since April, and the communication time exceeded 3,000 minutes, and they finally introduced Taiwan's high-quality Wendan pomelo. Yu Guoming, general manager of Nanjing Zhongcai Commercial Operations Management Co., Ltd., believes that this move solves the problem of insufficient fresh food transportation timeliness and unstable sales channels, improves transportation efficiency, broadens sales channels in East China, and fills the Nanjing local market’s supply gap for Taiwan’s high-quality Wendan pomelo. Taiwan's agricultural industry representative Cai Yaocheng said that the first batch of more than 3,000 boxes has arrived, and subsequent shipments will arrive one after another. This time it is a test of the Nanjing market, hoping to be recognized by more mainland consumers.
