This batch of Wendan pomeloes were picked from Taiwan orchards, completed customs clearance, and shipped to the Nanjing Agricultural and Sideline Products Logistics Center in less than 24 hours, saving nearly a week compared to traditional methods.
In April this year, the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China was authorized to issue ten policies and measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation, including facilitating the import of Taiwanese agricultural and fishery products that meet inspection and quarantine standards into the mainland. During this year's Straits Forum, a signing meeting for the docking of ten policies and measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation was held to build a platform for Taiwan's characteristic agricultural and fishery products to open up sales in the mainland.

The opening of the Ningxia-Taiwan scheduled direct flight to transport the first batch of large-scale Taiwanese fresh food is a concrete measure taken by Nanjing to implement ten policies and measures to promote cross-strait exchanges and cooperation. During the process, relevant enterprises on both sides of the Taiwan Strait held many consultations, and Nanjing Transportation Group built relevant air logistics channels; Nanjing Lukou International Airport Customs opened a green channel for Taiwan’s fresh food imports and implemented a 7×24-hour reservation customs clearance guarantee mechanism. Nanjing Agricultural and Sideline Products Logistics Center is responsible for the implementation of this project and creates a core trading hub for agricultural trade between East China and Taiwan.
"The Taiwanese Bundan pomelo that landed in Nanjing today is a high-quality Bundan pomelo that is more than 40 years old and is available on the Taiwanese market." Meng Pengjiu, general manager of Nanjing Ningtai Supply Chain Management Co., Ltd., said in an interview that they started working on the introduction of Taiwan's high-quality agricultural products that meet mainland standards in April this year. After selecting suitable fruit varieties in June, they contacted Taiwan orchards and fruit growers and spent more than 3,000 minutes on the phone with them, finally introducing Taiwan's high-quality Bundan pomelo to the mainland market.
Yu Guoming, general manager of Nanjing Zhongcai Commercial Operations Management Co., Ltd., believes that relying on the Ning-Taiwan direct scheduled all-cargo air channel has solved the previous problems of insufficient fresh food transportation timeliness and unstable sales channels. It has greatly improved the transportation timeliness of Taiwan's fresh products, broadened the sales channels of Taiwan's fruits in East China, explored a larger market for Taiwan's fruits and aquatic products in the future, and also filled the gap in Nanjing's local farmer's market for Taiwan's high-quality Bendan pomelo supply.
Cai Yaocheng, a representative of Taiwan's agricultural industry, said that the first batch of pomelo arrived that day, with more than 3,000 boxes, and more will arrive in the future.
