A body found more than 10 years after death in a vacant house in Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City

Around 2 a.m. on the 9th, a woman who had come to see the night view at Misakinoyama Park in Wakamatsu Ward, Kitakyushu City called 110 and said, ``I saw what looked like human bones.'' Fukuoka Prefectural Police confirmed that the body appeared to have been dead for more than 10 years, and the identity and cause of death are currently being investigated. According to Wakamatsu Police Station, the human remains were found lying on his side with a quilt over his head in the living room of a vacant one-story house. Gender unknown, height around 170cm. He was wearing a winter jumper and pants. Empty cans and other items were scattered around the area, indicating that this person may have been living in the vacant house. The discovery was made by three men and women in their 20s who were driving there. As he was walking through the park, he saw what looked like a house in a bamboo thicket, and when he looked inside to test his nerves, he found human bones. There were several calendars from September 1999 in the room, as well as household items and dolls. Police suspect that a third person may have been living there after the family who originally lived there left around 1999.
