UAE rescuers find 10 missing after floods in Nepal

Rescuers from the UAE have found 10 people who were considered missing after floods in Nepal, the Emirates news agency WAM reports.

Floods hit northern Nepal on the morning of August 26 after a powerful torrent of water from the Chinese side rushed into the Bhote Koshi River. The flood occurred after the earthquake and the resulting landslide. The death toll exceeded 1.3 thousand.

"A rescue team has managed to find ten missing people following floods in Nepal, bringing the total number of missing people found by the search and rescue team since the start of the operation to 18," WAM reported.

According to the agency, search operations are being carried out in the Rasuwa area and near the Trishule River and its adjacent affected areas. Emirati rescuers are using modern equipment and technology, including drones, aerial photography and 3D mapping.
