Since the launch of Apple's first foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, insufficient app support has become one of the most criticized issues. Many apps cannot fully adapt to the folding screen, allowing users to spend a lot of money to buy a new phone without being able to fully enjoy the advantages of the large screen. In this regard, Apple recently announced that more than 100,000 apps have been optimized, and thousands more are added every day. However, what Taiwanese users are most concerned about is: "Please update LINE quickly!"

Susan Prescott, Apple's vice president of global developer relations, said that she is very pleased to see developers investing in iPhone Duo App development so quickly. Currently, there are more than 100,000 apps specifically designed for iPhone Duo on the App Store, and thousands more continue to be added every day.

Since iPhone Duo adopts a folding design, it has an inner screen of 7.6 inches when unfolded and an outer screen of 5.4 inches. The ratio is different from the screen ratio of ordinary iPhones. Therefore, it is not possible to simply enlarge or reduce the screen to fully adapt all apps to the screen. It still requires developers to adjust the interface. In order to facilitate user identification, the App Store has also added a "Made for iPhone Duo" label, allowing users to know at a glance which apps have been optimized.

Popular apps that have been optimized so far include Netflix, YouTube, Instagram, WhatsApp, Zoom, as well as Microsoft's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and OneNote.

Taiwanese user cries, LINE screen shrinks into a small piece

However, although more than 100,000 apps have been optimized, for Taiwanese users, the one they most want to update as soon as possible is LINE. Currently, when LINE is opened on the inner screen of iPhone Duo, the screen can only be shrunk to a small area in the center, with large black borders left on the left and right. It is completely unable to take advantage of the foldable large screen. Even stickers cannot be used normally. If you want to transfer stickers, you must first close the phone and use the external screen instead, or "fold the phone gently" taught by netizens. It makes people laugh and cry.

Therefore, some netizens suggested that people who want to buy iPhone Duo might as well wait and see. It would be better to wait until the support of commonly used apps is better before buying.
