After the Dongsha Island wharf renovation project was completed and accepted in July this year, the Coast Guard's newly built 100-ton patrol boats were officially stationed for a long time. Compared with the small coastal CP boats in the past, not only the tonnage has become larger, but the patrol range and time have also become wider and longer. The Coast Guard today emphasized that it is expected to strengthen efforts to deter Chinese fishing boats from illegal fishing across the border and respond to the intrusive behavior of Chinese Coast Guard ships to firmly safeguard my country's sovereignty and maritime security and ensure the sustainable development of Dongsha's marine ecological resources.

The Coast Guard stated that in the past, Dongsha Island could only park small CP boats, so 100-ton patrol boats were often deployed to make a short stay when carrying out special operations to crack down on illegal cross-border fishing by Chinese fishing boats. Large patrol boats were also regularly deployed to patrol the Dongsha waters, and paired with the multi-functional patrol boats already stationed along the coast, demonstrating the powerful capabilities of multi-layered deterrence and mobile law enforcement.

Since February last year, in order to curb illegal cross-border fishing by Chinese fishing boats, the law enforcement strategy has been comprehensively refined, and the disposal of illegally operating Chinese boats across the border has been upgraded from "repelling" to "strongly detaining", and the tools for committing crimes have been confiscated in accordance with the law, hoping to effectively exert a deterrent effect by increasing the cost of illegal activities. The small boats confiscated last year have been converted to official use in accordance with the law, and have been used for patrolling shallow reefs around islands and reefs and marine conservation work. According to statistics, so far this year, the Coast Guard has seized 8 cases and 9 Chinese boats in Dongsha waters, all of which were confiscated in accordance with the law. The law enforcement results are remarkable.

The Coast Guard also stated that as the Dongsha Island Pier renovation project was completed and accepted as scheduled on July 1 this year, a new 100-ton patrol boat has officially been stationed on Dongsha Island, which will greatly strengthen inshore patrol and immediate maneuver response capabilities.
