Mass CHP resignation from mayors in Ankara

Following the resignation of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş from CHP membership, resignations from district mayors came one after another.

Kalecik Mayor Satulmuş Karakoç, Güdül Mayor Mehmet Doğanay, Polatlı Mayor Mürsel Yıldızkaya, Ayaş Mayor İzzet Demircioğlu, Şereflikoçhisar Mayor Mustafa Koçak, Beypazarı Mayor Özer Kasap and Elmadağ Mayor Adem Barış Aşkın announced their resignations from CHP.

FIRST STATEMENT FROM ÖZER KASAP

The first statement after Mansur Yavaş came from Beypazarı Mayor Özer Kasap. Kasap said, "At the point we have reached today, I am resigning from my membership in the Republican People's Party and I present to the public that I have decided to continue my political path independently.

I stand behind the promises I made to my fellow citizens who trusted and supported me on this path we embarked on with our President Mansur Yavaş. In the district where I was elected, without any discrimination from now on, as it has been until today; I will continue to serve with the same perseverance, determination and sense of responsibility.

My priority is to serve Beypazarı and my fellow citizens of Beypazarı, today as it was yesterday.

With whom I walked under the umbrella of the Republican People's Party and fought during the election process; I would like to thank all my companions who stood by me in our work, believed in me, and put forth their efforts and hearts. I will always remember the efforts and support of each of them with respect and gratitude.

My only goal in the next period is; “To serve our Beypazarı and my fellow citizens of Beypazarı in the best possible way.”

KALECİK MAYOR ALSO RESIGNED

Kalecik Mayor Satulmuş Karakoç said, "Politics is a long journey where commitment to people and values is tested. In this journey, it is necessary to make important decisions from time to time and stand behind the truths you believe in.

Since the first day we took office, we have considered it our duty to serve our fellow citizens in Kalecik without segregating or alienating anyone due to their political views. Because we saw the votes given to us not only as political support, but as a trust given to us on behalf of Kalecik. In line with the process we have been through and the developments, I have decided to resign from my membership in the Republican People's Party and continue my duty as Mayor independently. I would like to wholeheartedly thank all my companions, with whom we have walked under the same roof so far, who have contributed to this struggle and stood by us. The good days we spent together, the effort given and the bonds of love established will always have a special place for me.

The same understanding was at the basis of the path we took with our President Mansur Yavaş: Embracing people not for their political identities, but because they are human beings; To serve without discrimination, with justice and by protecting the trust of the people. Today, I will continue to walk alongside our President Mansur on this path we have embarked on with him. Authorities may change, political conditions may change. However, our responsibility to Kalecik will not change. From now on, just like yesterday; I will continue to work as the Mayor of our fellow citizens from all walks of life, whether they voted or not. Because the real issue for us is not a political identity, but the love we feel for Kalecik and the trust our fellow citizens have entrusted to us," he said.

GÜDÜL MAYOR DOĞANAY: SERVICE TO OUR PEOPLE IS THE BASIS, NOT OFFICIALS

Güdül Mayor Mehmet Doğanay said, “I have decided to terminate my membership of the Republican People's Party, which was entrusted to us by our Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and which I have carried with great honor and responsibility for years, due to the current management approach and the absolute nullity process.

This is my decision; It is not aimed at the deep-rooted history of the Republican People's Party, Ataturk's principles and revolutions, or our Republican values. On the contrary, it is a requirement of my commitment to these values and my responsibility regarding my political stance.

In the future, I will continue to walk the road together with our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, and serve our citizens. My duty as Mayor of Güdül; I will continue to do so with the responsibility of serving our fellow citizens and with devotion to the values of our district and our Republic.

The main thing for us is not the positions, but serving our people. With respect and love...”

POLATLI MAYOR MÜRSEL YILDIZKAYA

Polatlı Mayor Mürsel Yıldızkaya resigned. Announcing his resignation on his social media account, Yıldızkaya said, "With your support and prayers, I am resigning from my membership in the Republican People's Party, in line with the issues clearly expressed and the reasons given by our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, with whom I have always been happy to serve and walk our Ankara and Polatlı, in his statement, and I present to the public that we will continue our political path and services independently together with Mr. Mansur Yavaş."

AYAŞ MAYOR İZZET DEMİRCİOĞLU

Ayaş Mayor İzzet Demircioğlu said on his social media account, “At this point today, I am resigning from my membership in the Republican People's Party and I present to the public that I have decided to continue my political path independently.

ŞEREFLİKOÇHİSAR MAYOR MUSTAFA KOÇAK

Mayor of Şereflikoçhisar, Mustafa Koçak, said, “The Mansur Yavaş Municipality that I and my Mayor Mansur drew for Ankara years ago has brought hope to the whole country.

At this point, I resign from my membership in the Republican People's Party. Together with my brother Mansur Yavaş, we will continue to be hope for Ankara and the country.”

ALSO A RESIGNATION FROM ELMADAĞ

Elmadağ Mayor Adem Barış Aşkın also announced his resignation from CHP on his social media account. In his message, Aşkın said, "Dear Elmadağli Citizens, Today, I am resigning from my membership in the Republican People's Party, and I present to the public that I have decided to continue my duty independently. Best regards." he said.
