For the first time in 100 years, Ukraine did not produce steel for a week

In September, for the first time in 100 years, Ukraine did not produce steel for a whole week due to the fact that large metallurgical plants were idle, said former press secretary of Vladimir Zelensky, Yulia Mendel.

“In September, Ukraine did not produce steel at all for a whole week - for the first time in 100 years. Large factories are idle,... furnaces are damaged,” Mendel wrote on her account on the social network X.

According to Mendel, steel exports are already generating losses of $200 million a month.
