Chen Cuilian, the new director of the National History Museum, took over the post under the supervision of the Secretary-General of the Presidential Office Pan Mengan. In her speech, she pointed out that in recent years, the "stealth exchange of concepts" has been serious. The democratically elected government has been falsely accused of being an authoritarian dictatorship. Some people have even misappropriated the name of the democratic movement to form a "grand alliance outside the party", which will corrode confidence in democracy. She emphasized that in the future, the National History Museum will delve deeply into the history of democratization, build a centripetal force for the "Taiwan community" regardless of ethnic groups, and carefully handle the surveillance files in the deep water area of transformation justice to avoid secondary harm and social divisions.

China’s newly revised National Defense Mobilization Law will take effect on October 1, marking the first major revision of the law in 16 years. The new law defines national defense mobilization as activities to respond to threats to national sovereignty, unity, territorial integrity, security and development interests. For the first time, "development interests" are included in the reasons for mobilization, and the scope of mobilization is expanded to include data, network security and other fields. Scholars pointed out that the revised law aims to establish capabilities to support large-scale wars and long-term attrition, and can be used for national mobilization during peacetime competition between China and the United States. The assets of Taiwanese businessmen in the mainland may be expropriated, triggering concerns about legal conflicts between the two sides.
