A case of fake alcohol poisoning broke out in Madhya Pradesh, India, killing 11 and over 30 people sent to hospital

The tragedy of severe counterfeit alcohol poisoning has recently been reported in the Sagar district of Madhya Pradesh, India. Residents of several local villages are suspected of being collectively ill after drinking illegally brewed inferior counterfeit liquor. As of Sunday, more than 30 people have been rushed to the hospital and at least 11 people have died.

According to the "Times of India" report, most people gradually developed severe poisoning after drinking alcohol, including vomiting, muscle stiffness, purple skin and other symptoms. They were subsequently rushed to the local Banda Civil Hospital (Banda Civil Hospital) for emergency treatment. However, there were still many people who showed no signs of life when they arrived at the hospital and were pronounced dead after being treated by doctors.

The police said that a total of 11 people have been declared dead so far. The initial investigation concluded that the cause of death was related to drinking low-quality fake wine containing toxic substances. In addition, there are still three seriously ill patients fighting for death in the intensive care unit, and the medical team is working hard to rescue them.

After the incident broke out, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav severely condemned it, emphasizing that the government would never tolerate such incidents. He also assigned heads of relevant ministries and high-level officials to immediately rush to the scene to investigate, and promised to thoroughly investigate the source and flow of counterfeit wine and severely punish those with bad intentions.

Sagar District Chief Pratibha Pal also arrived at the hospital immediately to care for the patients and urgently dispatched multiple professional medical teams to provide support. She also called on all residents who have consumed alcohol from unknown sources in recent days to be vigilant and to seek medical attention immediately if they experience any abnormality or discomfort.
