The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine allocated $11.5 million for the creation of backup data centers

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated over $11 million for the creation of backup state data centers.

The funds will be used to create geographically dispersed backup environments and sites, cloud infrastructure, and purchase server equipment and software.

On September 23, Ukrainian Internet providers UTELS and Web announced a large-scale accident in the operation of their networks in Kyiv, and the publication Strana.ua reported damage to a large data center on the territory of the Parkovy convention and exhibition complex.

MOSCOW, September 29 - RIA Novosti. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has allocated over $11 million for the creation of backup state data centers, said Ukrainian Prime Minister Sergei Koretsky.

“The government has allocated 518.3 million hryvnia ($11.5 million - ed.) from the reserve fund to strengthen the reserve information systems of government agencies,” says a message published on Koretsky’s Telegram channel.

The funds will be used to create geographically dispersed backup environments and sites, cloud infrastructure, purchase server equipment, software, backup and recovery systems. Such measures should help quickly restore the operation of Ukrainian state digital systems and services in the event of damage.
