Yilan City's transportation has ushered in a major milestone. The "Yilan City Urban Plan Road No. 11 Development Project" with a total investment of 380 million yuan held an opening ceremony today. Yilan County Acting County Mayor Lin Maosheng and Mayor Chen Meiling cut the ribbon together with all walks of life, saying that Road 11 will be opened to vehicle traffic at 6 o'clock this evening, officially opening up the second line of Yilan City's East District!

Road No. 11 is an important north-south hub for the development of the East District of Yilan City. It is about 430 meters long and 20 meters wide. It connects the two major arterial roads of Donggang Road Section 2 and School House Road at both ends. It is also connected to Linsen Road at the rear train station through the No. 10 planned road. Now that the opening of Road 11 is regarded by the local government as the "Rent and Governor" to open up the traffic in the East District, its importance is self-evident.

Of the total project budget, construction costs accounted for 90 million yuan, but the land use fee was as high as 290 million yuan. After the municipal office worked hard, it received a subsidy of 220 million yuan from the Land and Resources Department of the Ministry of the Interior, and an injection of 40 million yuan from the county government. In addition, the government raised 110 million yuan on its own. Finally, the central and local governments jointly promoted the opening.

The Yilan City Office stated that the new road is equipped with two lanes of traffic in both directions and introduces the concept of "people-oriented transportation". There are 3.5-meter-wide sidewalks along the entire section, and common pipes are built underground to store telecommunication cables, eliminating the need to repeatedly excavate the road in the future. It is also equipped with 36 sets of LED street lights and drainage box culverts, which combines city beautification, pipeline maintenance and public safety.

"There are noble people's footprints along the way!" Chen Meiling lamented the difficulty of raising funds. In her speech, she especially thanked former Legislative Yuan You Xikun and all levels of people's representatives for their help. She said that the completion of Road 11 will effectively improve the surrounding traffic flow. In the future, it will cooperate with the high-speed rail extension to Yilan and the elevated railway, and it will become a broad road to drive the Eastern District towards prosperity and livability.
