Eleven members of the fourth-term Gao City Council will not be re-elected, and the next election promises a major shake-up.

The fourth term of the Gao City Council is approaching, but due to various factors, as many as 11 members will not be re-elected in the next term, and a major shake-up has been announced before voting.

There are 65 seats in the Gao City Council, which belong to 11 general constituencies and 4 aboriginal districts. Registration for the next council election closes on September 4. A total of 101 people have registered to run for the election and will vote on November 28.

But before the vote, as many as 11 members of this parliament announced that they would not be re-elected due to different reasons. In the first district, Zhu Xinqiang, who is not a member of the party, announced his withdrawal due to his assistant's involvement in the Grand Canyon case. In the second district, the Democratic Progressive Party Chen Mingze handed over his daughter Chen Linjie. In the third district, the Kuomintang Lu Shumei handed over his daughter Huang Yunhan. In the fourth district, the DPP Li Boyi was transferred to the legislator and Chen Shanhui, who was not a party member, announced his withdrawal. In the eighth district, the Kuomintang Huang Shaoting was dismissed due to the case and his sister Huang Yuting was handed over. In the ninth district, the DPP Huang Jie was transferred to the legislator.

Chen Zhizhong of the Democratic Progressive Party in the 10th district was dismissed due to the case, Zeng Liyan of the Kuomintang gave up re-election due to suspected involvement in the case, and Huang Yanyu of the DPP failed to pass the party primary election. In the 15th district, Fan Zhiqin announced that he would not run for office due to the case and handed over to newcomer Jin Heya.
