A Cairo court sentenced TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others to death.

The Cairo Criminal Court handed down a death sentence against well-known local TV presenter Sarah Khalifa and 11 others. Ahram Online reported this.

All defendants were accused of creating a criminal group that imported materials used to produce synthetic drugs for the purpose of selling them. They also possessed firearms and ammunition without a license. In total, 27 people were involved in the case. Nine received life sentences, and seven were acquitted by the court.

It is noted that the court sent the case of Khalifa and the other 12 defendants to the Grand Mufti of Egypt to obtain his opinion on the issue of execution. However, the clergyman’s conclusion is advisory in nature and is not binding on the court.

The publication recalled that Khalifa was arrested in Cairo in April 2025.
