The prosecutor's office will recover more than a billion from participants in the corruption scheme in the Ivanovo region, writes Kommersant (Kommersant).

According to the newspaper, the participants in the case are the former director of the regional department of roads and transport Dmitry Vavrinchuk, his commercial partner Rasho Feroyan and related persons and companies.

A regional official is accused of accepting bribes to secure contracts for road construction and repairs for a pair of related companies.

Currently, Vavrinchuk and Feroyan are in pre-trial detention center on charges of receiving and giving bribes on an especially large scale (Article 290 and Article 291 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

Earlier, the Ukrainian publication “Zerkalo Nedeli” (ZN.UA) reported that there may be about 2,000 fraudulent call centers operating in Ukraine, about half of which are under the cover of law enforcement agencies.
