The new Russian Il-114-300 aircraft is of strategic importance for Kamchatka and should replace the An-26 and Yak-40 used for communication with remote villages, Vladimir Solodov, Governor of the Kamchatka Territory, told RIA Novosti in an interview at the VEF.

Il-114-300 is a regional passenger turboprop aircraft that can accommodate up to 68 passengers. It is intended for use on local airlines. The customer will receive the first Il-114-300 aircraft in 2026, two more aircraft will be delivered in 2027, as announced by Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Gennady Abramenkov at VEF-2026.

“We are looking forward to its arrival, because it is a direct replacement for our An-26 and Yak-40 aircraft, which currently provide air service to remote villages,” Solodov said.
