Three new metro stations opened in Moscow

“Of the five Rublevo-Arkhangelsk radius stations opened on Moscow City Day, two had previously operated as part of the Big Circle Line, and three – Zvenigorodskaya, Narodnoye Opolchenie and General Karbyshev Boulevard – were built from scratch. Their design is dedicated to the heroism of the defenders of the Fatherland in historical retrospect. Thus, at Zvenigorodskaya there are views of the ancient city that defended the approaches to the capital, and on the “People’s Militia” and “General Karbyshev Boulevard” there are bas-reliefs with images of warriors,” the press service of the urban planning complex quotes Efimov as saying.

The report notes that the new stations have become both important transport facilities and architectural landmarks of the capital. In total, since 2011, 130 stations and more than 270 kilometers of metro lines and the Moscow Central Circle have been built and reconstructed in Moscow. In eight months of this year, almost 17 kilometers of tunnels were built. This is a record figure for five years.
