The Governor of Kamchatka called the Il-114-300 strategically important for the region

The new Russian Il-114-300 aircraft is of strategic importance for the Kamchatka Territory, because its aircraft fleet is aging, and the problem must be solved. The governor of the region, Vladimir Solodov, stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“We are looking forward to its arrival, because it is a direct replacement for our An-26 and Yak-40 aircraft, which currently provide air service to remote villages,” he explained.

Il-114-300 is a regional passenger turboprop aircraft with a capacity of up to 68 passengers, intended for operation on local airlines.

The vehicle received a type certificate in June 2026. In July, the government allocated 2.6 billion rubles for the modification of the first three aircraft. One of them is expected to be handed over to the customer by the end of the year, two more - in 2027. In 2028, the production of six aircraft is expected, in order to subsequently reach the level of 12 units per year.
