Keelung City Children’s and Children’s Department launches the “116th Annual Children and Children’s Representatives” recruitment campaign

The Keelung Municipal Government's Children and Juvenile Affairs Department (Children's and Juvenile Affairs Department) has launched the "116th Annual Executive Yuan and Ministry of Health and Welfare Children and Juvenile Representatives" selection campaign. Wu Yujie, director of Keelung City's Children and Juvenile Affairs Department, pointed out that the selection campaign will end on July 15th. All people who live, study or have registered in Keelung City and are registered in 2 Children born after January 1, 2010 and under the age of 18 are welcome to register. This event aims to ensure the rights of children and teenagers to participate in relevant groups of the Executive Yuan and the Ministry of Health and Welfare. It encourages children who are passionate and caring about public issues to actively sign up and jointly speak out for the rights of children and teenagers by participating in policy discussions.

Wu Yujie pointed out that in response to the central government's promotion of the "Child and Juvenile Welfare and Rights Protection Law" and the implementation of the spirit of children's participation in the "Convention on the Rights of the Child", the selection activity will be open from now on July 15. All children who live, study or register in Keelung City and were born after January 1, 2010 and under the age of 18 are sincerely welcome to sign up, so that children from different backgrounds can have the opportunity to express their opinions, so that every voice can exert influence.

Wu Yujie said that every year, each local government will nominate up to five children to participate in the selection of children's representatives, including one each for children with physical and mental disabilities, children from aboriginal ethnic groups, new residents, and children below junior high school (inclusive). In addition, two children from all backgrounds can be nominated. The Executive Yuan and the Ministry of Health and Welfare will ultimately select children's representatives based on the recommended list.
