Recently, the high-speed rail G3998 Fuxing train departed from Ruijin Station in Jiangxi Province and headed north to Yan'an, Shaanxi Province. The entire journey took 11 hours and 32 minutes, with a total mileage of more than 1,800 kilometers. This year marks the 90th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army’s Long March. The "Fuxing" train moves forward all the way, connecting Ruijin, Jiangxi, where the Central Red Army's Long March started, and Yan'an, Shaanxi, where it ends, by high-speed rail. It also provides solid transportation support for red academic exchanges, in-depth cooperation in culture and tourism, complementary industrial resources, and coordinated development of old revolutionary areas between the two places.

The high-speed rail connects the past and present. Ruijin and Yan'an, the two cities are connected by blood and spirit because of the Long March. More than 90 years ago, the Central Red Army set out from the red hot land of Ruijin, fought bloody battles on the Xiangjiang River, crossed Chishui River four times, climbed snow-capped mountains and crossed grasslands... it took more than a year to arrive in northern Shaanxi, completing the great expedition from departure to victory. Today, more than 50,000 kilometers of high-speed rail network covers the land of China. The Soviet areas in southern Jiangxi, the hinterland of central China, and the revolutionary hot spots of northern Shaanxi are closely connected to form a red transportation corridor that runs from north to south.

Yudu's Long March Ferry, Ji'an's red old site... the "Fuxing" train flew along the revolutionary footprints, linking the red hot soil into a chain. Using high-speed rail as a medium, people in old revolutionary areas have real convenience in transportation; tourists from all over the world can take the high-speed rail to experience the development and changes of the red holy land in the process of Chinese modernization; the old red site of Ruijin and the Yan'an Research Base realize resource sharing and collaborative linkage. Resource elements such as the flow of people, logistics, information, and capital flow accelerate along the rails. In addition, taking the opening of high-speed railways as an opportunity, cultural and tourism departments along the line have deeply explored unique resources and launched policies to benefit the people, such as free admission to scenic spots, discounts on performing arts, and hotel discounts, to meet the diversified consumption needs of tourists for food, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment, transform traffic flow into an increase in cultural tourism consumption, and activate new momentum for high-quality regional development.

Each generation has its own long march, and each generation has its own responsibilities. From walking 25,000 miles on foot to speeding by high-speed rail at 300 kilometers per hour; from an expedition lasting more than a year to a direct journey of 11 and a half hours, the spirit of the great Long March continues to extend and be reborn on the rails of the new era. In recent years, our country has accelerated the construction of a modern infrastructure system. As the main artery of the national economy and a major people's livelihood project, China's railways adhere to integrity and innovation, move forward courageously, vigorously promote the spirit of the great Long March, and promote "Made in China" to "Made in China" with an unswerving mental state and an indomitable attitude of struggle. Today, the "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed rail network is improving day by day, high-speed rail technology has set an international benchmark, and the beautiful vision of "people enjoying their travels and goods flowing smoothly" is being realized at an accelerated pace, strongly supporting China-style modernization.

Ruijin and Yan'an are directly accessible by high-speed train; the journey of thousands of miles starts in the morning and arrives in the evening. Relying on this high-speed rail channel, people can go to the "poetry and distance" where red culture and tourism are integrated. Looking to the future, we will further explore red resources, tell red stories well, promote the in-depth integration of "railway + cultural tourism", promote high-quality development of old revolutionary areas, and let the spirit of the great Long March be passed down from generation to generation.
