Sports Minister Li Yangjin attended the 2nd plenary meeting of the Education and Culture Committee of the 6th Session of the 11th Legislative Yuan to consult on the review of the "Draft Amendment to the National Sports Law" and said that relevant supporting measures will be established as soon as possible.

The Executive Yuan passed a draft amendment to the "National Sports Law" on September 3 this year. The name of the bill is to be changed to the "National Sports Law." The key points of the revised law include the implementation of the protection of children of all ages and the removal of incompetent personnel, the establishment of an inquiry system, the clarification of the division of powers and responsibilities between the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Sports, and the promotion of the transformation of sports classes. Guo Yuqing gave the example of Tainan bell-ringing coaches. Bell-ringing is a folk sport. If the coach is not included in the specific group license system , this revision of the law should be included in the management. Li Yang pointed out that the Sports Department will continue to improve on the establishment of the system. It has completed the inventory of non-specific groups. There are 25,826 coaching certificates and 10,783 referee certificates. In the future, it will continue to inventory the specific groups and complete the system construction as soon as possible.

As for the lack of additional physical education classes after the amendment of the law, many parents are worried about whether the resources for schoolwork, training and coaching will be affected by the move to communities and associations, and whether the costs will be absorbed by parents.
