A man will be tried in Crimea for the murder of a friend in 1995

A 59-year-old resident of Simferopol, accused of a brutal massacre in 1995, will stand trial in Crimea. The Investigative Committee of Crimea and Sevastopol reported this on its channel in the MAX.

According to investigators, in February 1995, on the Yevpatoria Highway, the accused hit a teenager with a car, who died. Then he asked his friend to take responsibility for the crime. He agreed and wrote a confession, but when the matter came to court, he began to evade appearing at court hearings and soon found himself on the wanted list.

Fearing that the friend who saved him from responsibility would split after his arrest and tell the police who was the real culprit of the accident, he came up with an insidious plan. The accused invited a friend to visit a house in Tourist Lane in the city of Simferopol. There he treated him to delicious food and drink, and raised toasts to him.

When the guest had already drunk a fair amount, the owner invited him to get some air and walk through the nearby forest. There he took out a pistol and shot his friend in the back of the head. Then, together with an accomplice invited in advance, who was also at the feast, they buried the body.

The disclosure of this crime was the result of the systematic work of investigators and forensic investigators to solve crimes of past years. Materials and persons who had previously come to the attention of Ukrainian law enforcement agencies were studied. The investigation into the case has been completed and it has been sent to court.
