The statement said that recently, the Chinese Table Tennis Association has noticed that some extreme fans have continued to insult, spread rumors and personally attack national team coaches and athletes. Such behavior has spread from the stadium to the Internet, and from the Internet to the scene.

The statement said that some athletes were disturbed by the aforementioned bad behavior during the game; some coaches were given the middle finger and insulted by individual extreme fans on the sidelines; some coaches and athletes continued to receive abusive text messages, harassing phone calls and private messages on social media, which seriously interfered with their normal training, competition and life. The association has assisted relevant athletes and coaches to report the case to the public security organs to pursue the legal responsibility of the relevant personnel.

The statement pointed out that the Chinese Table Tennis Association has always placed the physical and mental health and long-term development of coaches and athletes in an important position, provided protection for coaches and athletes, and resolutely safeguarded their legitimate rights and interests. In the next step, the association will also promote the establishment of a prohibited list system for the competition venue and strengthen the maintenance of order on site. For all types of false information involving team management, competition arrangements, athlete usage, coaching staff lineups, etc., the association will cooperate with relevant departments to deal with it in accordance with laws and regulations.
