衛生局強調，0至6歲是兒童發展關鍵期，定期篩檢可及早掌握發展狀況，必要時早期介入專業療育，有助兒童未來學習與生活，守護兒童每一個關鍵成長里程碑。

兒童發展篩檢是由接受標準化篩檢工具訓練的兒科、家醫科專科醫師或幼兒專責醫師執行，針對兒童粗大動作、精細動作、語言認知及社會發展四大面向進行評估，透過專業篩檢，不只確認孩子「有沒有問題」，更重要是讓家長了解孩子目前發展狀況，在需要時及早獲得適切的協助。

高市今（115）年更強化串聯醫療體系與鼓勵家庭參與，盼有效提升篩檢涵蓋率，建立更完善的兒童發展支持網絡，讓每位孩子都能健康成長、不要錯過黃金發展期。
