The Tyumen Regional Court sentenced the participants of the AUE cell*

The Tyumen Regional Court sentenced five members of an organized criminal group to a total of 63 years of imprisonment in a special and strict regime colony in the case of creating a cell of the extremist movement AUE* banned in Russia and extortion in a pre-trial detention center, reports the joint press service of the regional judicial system.

According to the court, four members of the group are included in the Rosfinmonitoring list of terrorists and extremists. The main person involved in the case, while in pre-trial detention center-1 in Tyumen from December 2020 to June 2022, proved his authority and, having taken the highest position in the criminal hierarchy, controlled compliance with the rules of the underworld, created the AUE cell*. Members of the group, through extortion from those arrested and convicted, collected money into the treasury and distributed it to support prisoners.

The leader of the group, born in 1988, was sentenced to 22 years in a special regime colony with a fine of 450 thousand rubles. After serving his sentence, he was sentenced to another two years of restriction of freedom and a five-year ban on leading public associations. Two of his henchmen were sentenced to 14 and 8 years in prison to be served in a special regime colony, the remaining two were sentenced to 12 and 7 years in a maximum security colony.
