The National Day and Liberation Day holidays will come this month. The Highway Bureau of the Ministry of Transport predicts that there will be a large number of tourist vehicles on national highways during each holiday, and the traffic demand on national highways will be much higher than on ordinary days.

The Expressway Bureau stated today (2nd) that big data analysis over the years pointed out that the two days before each consecutive holiday will be dominated by southbound tourist traffic, with more traffic concentrated in the morning, and the traffic will be more obvious on the first day; the two days after each holiday will be dominated by northbound travel home, and congestion is prone to occur in the afternoon, and will be more obvious on the third day.

The High Commissioner specifically calls on road users who drive by themselves to make more use of alternative roads, or refer to the "good travel times on national highways" to plan their journey in advance to avoid peak traffic. First, on the two days before each consecutive holiday (October 9-10 and October 24-25), it is recommended to depart on the Western National Highway before 6 a.m. or after 12 noon; on National Highway 5, it is recommended to depart before 5 a.m. or after 5 p.m.

Second, on the two days after each consecutive holiday (October 10-11 and October 25-26), it is recommended to depart before 9 a.m. in the southern part of the Western National Highway, and before 12 noon in the central region; it is recommended to depart before 9 a.m. in the National Highway 5. The High Commissioner reminds passers-by to make good use of the "Highway 1968" App before departure to grasp real-time traffic conditions and driving time.
