According to a report by well-known ESPN reporter Shams Charania, Leonard and the Raptors reached an agreement. The two parties signed a two-year, $115 million extension contract, which includes player options for the final season from 2028 to 2029.

In fact, before the Raptors and Clippers completed the deal, there was news that Leonard would only renew his contract with the Raptors, and now both parties have successfully signed the contract.

Leonard is currently in the last year of a three-year, $149.5 million contract. According to Charania, Leonard could have signed an extension of up to two years and $126 million. However, in order to give the Raptors flexible salary space, he was willing to take about $11 million less, and also gave up the $7.5 million in trade compensation in the original contract.

Leonard was traded to the Raptors by the Spurs in 2018. He played one season for the Raptors, averaging 26.6 points in 60 games during the regular season.
