Wen Shizheng, candidate for Nantou County Magistrate of the Democratic Progressive Party, won the No. 2 lottery in the county magistrate election today. Wen Shizheng said that he returned from Beijing and studied abroad. He has seen how the United States, Britain and Japan dealt with the elderly and various social issues. The biggest difference between him and his opponent Xu Shuhua is that he came back with what he learned to contribute to his hometown, hoping to bring a new Nantou. The people of Nantou County deserve a better future and a better county magistrate.

Wen Shizheng said that the most important thing to change in Nantou is transportation, so he will promote light rail. After all, it is too late to wait for the MRT to be completed. He will connect Caotun, Nantou, Mingjian, and Zhushan from Wufeng in Taichung to create north-south transportation and use the existing Taiwan Railway Jiji branch line to become an east-west commuter train.

Wen Shizheng said that Nantou's per capita GDP is the lowest in the country. Not only is the population losing, but the aging population is also very serious.
