China News Service, Lishui, November 6 (Hu Fengsheng) In the late autumn of the mountainous area in southwestern Zhejiang, next to the memorial hall of the former site of the Lishui County Committee of the Communist Party of China in Daihou Village, Yaxi Town, Liandu District, entrepreneurs, agricultural experts, and town and village cadres sat together to discuss heatedly around topics such as the protection and utilization of red cultural tourism resources, the development of characteristic agriculture, and the increase of village collective economic income. This small village in an old revolutionary area is rejuvenating.
Convert opinions and suggestions into assistance projects
Lishui is one of the 20 key revolutionary base cities in the country. Daihou Village in Liandu District is an important birthplace of the Red Revolution in Lishui. In 1947, the Lishui County Committee of the Communist Party of China was established here. However, many years ago, the infrastructure here was weak and the economy was lagging behind. Changes began in 2007 - the Liandu District Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee and Daihou Village started matching assistance, and the Kuomintang Revolutionary Organizations at the provincial, municipal and district levels in Zhejiang worked together for 20 years.
In the early days of assistance, the Liandu District Committee of the Kuomintang started with the most urgent drinking water problem of the villagers, ran departments, fought for projects, raised funds, and included Daihou Village in the "Drinking Water Project for Tens of Millions of Farmers". After that, they sought funds to strengthen and widen the road leading to the village and repair the old county party committee site. In 2009, Daihou Village was rated as the Liandu District Patriotic Education Base, and in 2014 it was upgraded to the Lishui City Patriotic Education Base.
With red resources available, how can we make villagers rich? The Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee continued to make suggestions to promote Daihou Village to take the road of "red and green integration": repairing the Red Army collective canteen and Red Army Road, carrying out activities such as re-walking the Red Army Road, while revitalizing green resources and developing an integrated agricultural and tourism industry. What was once a poor mountain village is now a Zhejiang provincial red tourist village and a demonstration village for the integrated development of agriculture and tourism.
In December 2025, the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Kuomintang Revolutionary Committee went to Daihou Village to carry out the social service activity of "Holding Hands with Love and Helping Common Wealth". Wang Chongwen, director of Zhejiang Xinnong Sixth Industry Research Institute, suggested increasing the added value of rural resources, and Wang Xiaojiang, general manager of Hangzhou Qiushi Tea Industry, put forward suggestions on the branding operation of wilderness tea... Now, these opinions and suggestions have been gradually transformed into local assistance projects.

Deepen cross-regional collaborative performance of duties
In Liandu, the story of support from democratic parties is not unique. Fushantou Village in Taiping Township is a village of the She ethnic group. They have long lived a poor life holding on to their "gold and silver". In 2018, the Liandu District Committee of the Peasants and Workers’ Party fought for the Zhejiang Provincial Committee to include Fushantou Village in the “Double Hundred Paired Villages”. The provincial, municipal and district-level organizations of the Peasants and Workers’ Party have led 15 teams to investigate and provide assistance, raised a total of 1.2044 million yuan in assistance funds, and built a 200-acre Camellia oleifera planting base.
Camellia oleifera has a long growth cycle, so the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Peasants and Workers’ Party launched a combination of “financial support + expert guidance + guaranteed recycling”. In 2023, the camellia oleifera base will have its first bumper harvest, and the total village collective income that year will reach 46.6% year-on-year. During the Camellia oleifera planting period, it provided more than 2,000 employment positions for the village and paid more than 330,000 yuan in labor costs.
In addition to industrial assistance, the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Peasants and Workers’ Party has further extended its service reach to the field of people’s livelihood. In January 2024, the social service base of the Zhejiang Provincial Committee of the Peasants and Workers’ Party was established in Taiping Township (Tuyao) Village. It provides free clinics, agricultural technology guidance, and poverty alleviation condolences from time to time, creating a "Forward·Warm Sun" service brand.
The Zhejiang Provincial Committee of China Democratic National Construction Association regards Liandu as an important practice area for deepening cross-regional collaborative performance of duties. In June 2025, cross-regional exchange activities between the Democratic National Construction Association of Jiande, Jiaojiang, and Liandu were held in Liandu. The activity integrated ideological education, on-site study, and performance of duties. The three places' mutual enrichment markets were simultaneously opened, and a normalized cross-regional collaboration mechanism was established.
"Liandu, as the core area of the old revolutionary base in southwest Zhejiang, has a deep foundation for multi-party cooperation." said the main person in charge of the United Front Work Department of the Liandu District Committee of the Communist Party of China. The cross-regional joint construction promoted the exchange of resources and complementary advantages of various places, and explored a new path for cross-regional collaboration and mutual prosperity among democratic parties.
From the continuous support of the red cultural tourism in Daihou Village in the 20th year of the Revolution, to the Peasants and Workers Party activating the hematopoietic function of Fushantou Village with the Camellia Camellia industry, to the cross-regional collaboration of the Democratic National Construction Association to incorporate Liandu into the practice of performing duties - the three forces converged in the red land of southwestern Zhejiang, forming the "Liandu Practice" for democratic parties to empower rural revitalization.
