The murder 20 years ago was solved: He killed children and buried them in the field

The investigation into the death of Rıza Güzel, whose family reported him missing in 2006 in Köşker village of Kırşehir's Akpınar district, was resolved with witness statements in 4 provinces.

According to the information received, Kırşehir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, under the coordination of the Unsolved Crimes Investigation Department of the Ministry of Justice, carried out a comprehensive study regarding the Rıza Güzel incident, for the crime of "intentional murder".

Within the scope of the investigation, a decision was taken to "Eavesdrop and Record Communication" on family members and other suspects for 3 months.

As a result of the studies carried out meticulously by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Team (JASAT) for approximately 4 months, important findings were reached.

Statements were taken as witnesses from 11 people in 4 different provinces, surrounding districts and villages regarding the incident, hospital records in different provinces related to Güzel were examined, satellite and aerial photographic images of the alleged dates were requested from the relevant institution, intercity bus terminals and bus services were checked.

After it was determined that Güzel, who was reported missing, did not leave the village on the date of the incident, did not work in a permanent job, lived in the village, drove a pirate taxi, drank alcohol daily, and had constant family fights, the investigation of her family members was intensified.

In this context, as a result of the judicial hearing conducted on the indifference and contradictory statements of the family members, the existing evidence, the tapes taken, the research conducted in the region and the village, and the witness statements taken, an operation was organized at 6 different addresses in 3 provinces on October 10, 2026.

As a result of the confessions and location of the mother and her 6 children, among the family members detained during the operation, bone fragments believed to belong to the victim were found in the land of the same village.

Among the suspects who were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the gendarmerie, the victim's children, L.G. and B.G. He was arrested by the judgeship, Z.G. He was released on condition of judicial control. The other suspects were released after their statements at the prosecutor's office.
