The Body of an Unidentified Woman Found in 2012 Was Determined to Belong to Gülizar Aydın

In line with the investigation initiated within the scope of the re-evaluation of unsolved files by the Unsolved Crimes Investigation Department established within the General Directorate of Criminal Affairs of the Ministry of Justice, the DNA examination of the female body, which was found dismembered on the Muğla Milas-Aydın Söke Highway in 2012 and whose identity has not been determined to date, has been concluded.

DNA MATCH WAS PROVIDED

In the report prepared by the Izmir Forensic Medicine Institute, it was determined that the unidentified body belonged to Gülizar Aydın, who had been missing and wanted since 2012. Within the scope of the DNA examination, the DNA sample taken from Gülizar Aydın's son Burak Zülam was compared with the samples obtained from the corpse, and a DNA match was achieved between mother and son.

HIS WIFE SELAMI AYDIN WAS ARRESTED AND DELIVERED TO PRISON

In the studies carried out under the coordination of Söke Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the base records, HTS data, vehicle movements and witness statements of Gülizar Aydın's wife, Selami Aydın, regarding the incident period were analyzed in detail.

During the technical examination, it was determined that Selami Aydın was found in the area where the unidentified woman's body was found on the date of the incident. Selami Aydın, who was determined as a suspect in line with the material evidence collected, was caught during an operation carried out at his address in Izmir. The suspect was arrested by the judicial authorities on suspicion of killing Gülizar Aydın and was handed over to Söke Closed Penal Institution.
