A man accused of a 2015 double murder will appear in court in Moscow.

The prosecutor's office approved an indictment against a man who stabbed a woman and her daughter to death in their apartment on Shabolovka in Moscow in 2015, the capital's prosecutor's office told RIA Novosti.

It was established that at night in February 2015, the accused decided to rob an apartment in a building on Shabolovka Street: he climbed onto the roof and through the balcony entered the house where a 41-year-old woman and her daughter were. The man beat the victim and hit her with a piercing object at least 22 times, and then hit the woman’s daughter with the same object at least 16 times. They died on the spot.

The attacker stole valuables and more than 560 thousand rubles, after which he fled from Russia. It is emphasized that his identity remained unknown for a long time, and only at the end of 2025, with the coordinating role of the prosecutor’s office, it was possible to restore all the circumstances of the crime and find him: the man’s fingerprints in the database coincided with those found at the crime scene. The defendant admitted guilt.
