China News Service, Guangzhou, September 27 (Reporter Wang Jian) The two-day fourth leg of the 2026 Guangzhou Dragon Boat Super League concluded on the 27th at the Haizhu Division, Huangpu Chung, and Chisha Beigu Ferry, bringing citizens and tourists a waterfront activity with both Lingnan characteristics and scientific and technological interest.
According to reports, this event is co-sponsored by the Guangzhou Sports Bureau, Guangzhou Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau, Guangzhou Commerce Bureau, and Guangzhou Sports Federation. The Guangzhou Longwei Group, the Bay Area Dragon Teng Group Men’s Open Group and the Men’s and Women’s Mixed Group have successively completed the 22-person standard dragon boat 300-meter straight race.
After the Guangzhou Longwei Group completed its points competition on the 26th, the Bay Area Longteng Group men's open group and mixed male and female group started on the 27th. Teams from the Bay Area competed on the 300-meter track. The men's open group showed the power and speed of short-distance racing, while the men's and women's mixed group showed the charm of teamwork in team coordination and rhythm connection.
From Luhu to Huangpu Chung, the Bay Area Longteng Group continues to retain the men’s open group and mixed gender group. According to the competition regulations of this site, among the 20 rowers in each team of the mixed male and female team, there will be no less than 8 female members. The male and female team members paddled in the same boat and completed setting sail, accelerating and sprinting together, allowing more dragon boat enthusiasts to participate in high-level exchanges and making the competition venue more sporting.
On the 300-meter track, the slight difference at the start, the change in paddling frequency during the course, and the coordination in the final sprint are all related to the final ranking. Each team paddled forward in unison following the beat of the drum. The helmsman adjusted the course in time, the bow of the boat broke through the water, and the paddle blades stirred up layers of water. As the teams crossed the finish line one after another, the rankings of each group in the two-day event were determined one after another.
After competition, Dongguan Zhongtang Huangyong Laoyou Dragon Boat Club won the men's open category championship in the Bay Area Dragon Boat Group, Guangzhou Xiasha Community Cultural and Sports Association Dragon Boat Team and Zhaoqing Jinlian Feiteng Dragon Boat Team won the second and third runner-up respectively; Panyu District Shigangdong Village Qinghe Dragon Boat Team won the Bay Area Dragon Boat Group mixed male and female championship, and Dongguan Mayong Tourism Association Dragon Boat and Liede Dragon Boat Team won the second and third runner-up respectively.

The tournament organizing committee stated that after the conclusion of this station, the Guangzhou Dragon Super League will continue to advance the follow-up schedule, and each team will strive for better results in the league. According to the competition regulations, the top 10 teams in the Guangzhou Longwei Group with the highest total points from the first 4 sub-stations will advance to the Gold Cup Group of the annual finals, and the remaining teams will participate in the Silver Cup Group Finals. The event will continue to use dragon boats as a link to connect the city's waterfront, Lingnan culture and citizens' lives, allowing the enthusiasm of "a hundred teams to compete for the river and the whole city to compete" to continue to more venues.
