He jumped 2.25 meters in one try and won the track and field team's first gold medal this year and the Taiwanese delegation's third gold medal this year.

The last time a Taiwanese male track and field athlete won a gold medal in the Asian Games was in 1966 when Wu A-min won the gold medal in the men's decathlon. Now, 60 years later, Fu Zhaoxuan won the gold medal in the high jump.

In addition, the best performance in Taiwan's men's high jump in the past was Liao Xuesong's bronze medal in 1990. Fu Zhaoxuan's gold also created the first high jump gold medal in team history.

Today, Fu Zhaoxuan even passed 2.25 meters once, tying the best of the season and leaping into the lead. The Indian player Sarvesh Kushare, who was behind him, only passed 2.25 meters in the second jump. Therefore, Fu Zhaoxuan is also sure to win the gold medal.
