Zeng Fanhua, charge d'affaires of the Chinese Embassy in Germany, said in his speech that the Mid-Autumn Festival carries with it the longing of countless Chinese people for their hometown, as well as their yearning for peace and harmony between the country and the people, and harmony between family and people. For a long time, overseas Chinese in Germany have always been concerned about their ancestral country and have always cared about and supported China's economic and social development. They have helped poor areas in the country many times and fully carried forward the Chinese nation's traditional virtues of helping those in need, uniting and helping each other. This series of activities also received positive response and enthusiastic participation from compatriots in Germany.
Zeng Fanhua said that since the beginning of this year, China and Germany have had close exchanges at all levels, vigorous practical cooperation, and wonderful people-to-people and cultural exchanges. Next year marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. For more than half a century, despite the distance between mountains and seas, our hearts and minds are connected, and the two peoples have never stopped understanding, communicating and learning from each other. It is hoped that people from all walks of life in China and Germany will continue to support the cause of friendship between the two countries and create more highlight moments for the development of Sino-German relations.
That night, the Henan Museum Chinese Ancient Ensemble, the Chengdu Sichuan Opera Research Institute and the Berlin Canzonetta Choir performed on the same stage, bringing Chinese ancient music, Sichuan opera, pipa solo and chorus to the audience. Among them, the Chinese Ancient Orchestra performed Beethoven's "Ode to Joy" with traditional Chinese instruments, the Berlin Canzonetta Choir sang the Chinese folk song "Jasmine", and special performances such as Sichuan Opera Face Changing also won rounds of applause from the audience.

Spectator Guntram Kaiser told a reporter from China News Service that this was his first time to participate in an event celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival. He was deeply impressed by the performance of traditional Chinese musical instruments. He believes that cultural exchanges are very important to enhance mutual understanding between the people of Germany and China, and hopes that the German people will learn more about Chinese culture through such activities.
In 2025, the Chinese Embassy in Germany will unite the "heart and strength of overseas Chinese" and hold the first "Mid-Autumn Festival with Love, Meet in Berlin" series of activities in Berlin. (over)
