China News Service, Chengdu, September 29 (Shan Peng) The 2026 China Animation Centennial and High-Quality Development of the Animation Industry Industry Exchange Conference was held in Ziyang, Sichuan on the 29th.
It is reported that this event is jointly sponsored by the Industrial Development Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Sichuan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and the Sichuan Provincial Economic Cooperation Bureau, and co-organized by the China Animation Group and the Ziyang Municipal People's Government. With the main line of "Salute a Centenary and Start a New Journey", the event looks back on the century-old struggle of Chinese animation and builds consensus on the high-quality development of the industry.
This event brought together representatives from leading cultural industry enterprises, universities, and associations across the country, and more than 350 guests from government, industry, academia, and research circles gathered in Bashu to discuss new opportunities for national comics and explore new paths for the industry. Cultural state-owned enterprises such as China Animation Group, Poly Culture, Bauhinia Pictures, and China Digital Culture Group, leading enterprises such as Starbucks, Tongcheng, and Ctrip, cultural and creative leaders such as Huaqiang Fantawild, Bubble Mart, Perfect World, Shanghai Fengyu Zhu, and Bilibili gathered together, and industry associations and universities such as Communication University of China and China Animation Society came to help. Digital cultural and creative enterprises account for more than 90%, covering emerging tracks such as animation, IP operations, trendy games, and AIGC. The guests have high levels, focus on fields, and strong professionalism, realizing the "first gathering" of core entities upstream and downstream of the animation industry chain in Ziyang.
At the meeting, Xiao Jian, general manager of China Animation Group, released the "China Animation and Game Industry Development Industry Index Report", which used authoritative data to panoramically display the development foundation, overall situation and future trends of the national animation industry. Huang Xinyuan, deputy dean of Hainan International College of Communication University of China, shared the theme of the century-old inheritance and innovative development of Chinese animation, and systematically sorted out the development context and artistic achievements of Chinese animation over the past century. China Animation Group, together with Chengdu Academy of Fine Arts and other enterprises and institutions, jointly issued the "China Animation Industry High-Quality Development Initiative", which issued an industry call focusing on "focusing on high-quality leadership, strengthening technological empowerment, standardizing the industrial ecology, and deepening collaborative linkage" and other aspects, advocating that the majority of animation practitioners adhere to their cultural roots, be brave in innovation and creation, and work together to build a good industrial ecology.
During the event, a number of supporting sub-activities were simultaneously launched to build an integrated platform for industry implementation, achievement display, ideological collision and public experience for this conference. Among them, the Sichuan Province Digital Cultural and Creative Industry Investment Cooperation Matchmaking Conference focuses on building a strong chain in the digital cultural and creative industry, organizing chain leaders, investment departments, and industrial parks to accurately connect with leading enterprises across the country to promote the transformation of industry consensus into Sichuan projects; the China Animation Centenary Classic Works Exhibition focuses on the image data of century-old national comic milestone works, presenting the innovative results of animation IP; the "Inheritance and Renewal" roundtable for the high-quality development of the national comic industry brings together industry luminaries and academic experts for in-depth discussions on Bashu IP mining and transformation, Sichuan-Chongqing animation synergy, etc.
