MOSCOW, October 5 - RIA Novosti. The number of Russian tourists visiting Egypt in the first nine months of 2026 increased by 23% compared to the same period last year, when Russians took first place among foreign tourists, Egyptian Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi told RIA Novosti.

“Russians still occupy first place in inbound tourism. From January to September 25, 2026, tourist flows from Russia increased by approximately 23% compared to the same period last year,” the minister said.

He recalled that in 2025 the number of Russian tourists visiting Egypt exceeded two million people. “The dynamics indicate an increase in demand for Egypt from Russian tourists and create opportunities for a further increase in tourist flow,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

According to the minister, Russian tourists actively visit the Red Sea resorts, as well as the cultural attractions of Cairo and Giza, including the Grand Egyptian Museum and the pyramids.
