Russians become leaders in tourist flow to Egypt in 2026

Russians took first place among foreign tourists in visits to Egypt - in the first nine months of 2026, their number increased by 23 percent compared to the same period in 2025. The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of this African country, Sherif Fathi, told RIA Novosti.

The agency's interlocutor recalled that in 2025, more than two million Russian tourists visited Egypt. According to him, the dynamics indicate an increase in demand and create opportunities for a further increase in tourist flow.

Fathi added that travelers from Russia are actively interested in the Red Sea resorts, as well as the cultural attractions of Cairo and Giza. He also noted that the country's authorities are working to create new tourism products and combine beach holidays and cultural programs.
