The 2026 nationwide unified destruction action for infringing, counterfeit and shoddy goods was held in Tianjin

China News Service, Tianjin, September 10 (Reporter Zhou Yaqiang) The 2026 National Unified Destruction Action for Infringing, Counterfeit and Shoddy Goods was held in Tianjin on the 10th. On that day, Tianjin concentratedly destroyed 232,400 pieces of infringing, counterfeit and shoddy goods such as food, daily necessities, clothing, bags, toys, electric bicycles, and electronic equipment, weighing about 22.79 tons and worth 1.3532 million yuan.

This action was coordinated and deployed by the Office of the Leading Group for the Coordination and Promotion of the Construction of a Quality Powerful Country and the State Administration for Market Regulation, and the Tianjin Municipal Market Supervision Commission hosted the event in Tianjin. Representatives from the Propaganda Department of the Tianjin Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Public Security Bureau, Municipal Ecological Environment Bureau, Municipal Intellectual Property Office, Municipal High People’s Court, Municipal People’s Procuratorate, Tianjin Customs and relevant rights holders attended. At 11:20, the destruction of the Tianjin venue started. China-funded Environmental Green Supply Chain (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. classifies items according to their attributes and implements harmless disposal requirements throughout the process.

According to the Tianjin Municipal Market Supervision Commission, since the beginning of this year, Tianjin has focused on six key areas, including Jinmen time-honored brands, geographical indications, live streaming e-commerce, liquor, auto parts, and agricultural supplies, to crack down on illegal activities such as trademark infringement, counterfeit patents, malicious trademark registration, illegal agency, and false labeling of geographical indications, and implement a comprehensive law enforcement model of "one case, multiple investigations." So far, the entire system has investigated and dealt with 258 cases of intellectual property infringement, and transferred 4 cases to the public security organs, involving a total amount of more than 20 million yuan.

The Tianjin Municipal Market Supervision Commission stated that with the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day approaching, it will cooperate with the Municipal Intellectual Property Office to launch a special campaign to protect the city’s time-honored enterprises and well-known trademark enterprises, and keep a close eye on infringement and illegal activities in the physical market and e-commerce platforms. In the next step, Tianjin will continue to deepen cross-department and cross-regional linkage, promote coordinated administrative and judicial protection, and implement full-chain crackdowns on the production, circulation, and sales of infringing, counterfeit and shoddy goods.
