The 2026 Seoul Night and Food Culture Festival will be held consecutively in Mapo-gu’s traditional markets and shopping districts.

Mapo-gu, Seoul (Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun) announced on the 3rd that traditional markets and shopping streets in the region have been selected for the Seoul Metropolitan Government's '2026 Nighttime and Food Culture Revitalization Support Project' and will hold a series of festivals that take advantage of the characteristics of each market.

On the 4th, the 'Ahyeon Era' event will be held at Ahyeon Market from 4 PM with the theme 'Memories begin again at the market.' If you purchase an item at a participating store, you will receive a voucher that can be exchanged for draft beer, popcorn, or slush. Retro games are also provided to help you recall your childhood memories.

The ‘Global Culture Festival’ will be held on the 4th and 5th at the Mangwon-dong World Cup Market. If you present a receipt for a purchase of 3,000 won or more at the market, you can receive a glass of draft beer. Traditional cultural experiences such as making eco-friendly coffee waste keyrings, norigae and Korean paper fans are also available for purchases of items over 10,000 won.

On the 5th and 6th, the ‘Dohwa-dong Boksagol Night Market Festival’ will be held at Boksakkot Children’s Park. Free draft beer is provided to festival visitors on a first-come, first-served basis. Performances such as a play zone and bubble show are also scheduled, along with experience booths participated by Love Phone, Mapo Community Welfare Center, and Dohwa Youth Culture Center.

On the 10th, the 'Yonggang-dong Gourmet Road Night (NIGHT) Festival' will be held, on the 17th to 20th, a night market hosted by Mangridan-gil Alley Shopping Mall, and on the 18th, hosted by Hapjeong-dong Food Alley Shopping Mall.

The festival is scheduled to continue next month at Mangwon Market, Gyeongui Forest Road Seogang Alley-type Shopping Mall, Mapo Agricultural and Marine Products Market, Yeonnam Alley-type Shopping Mall, and Hongdae Small Business Owners Association.

District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun said, “Through the night market festival, we hope that traditional markets and shopping streets will become vibrant spaces bustling with people not only during the day but also at night.”
