China News Service, Chongqing, September 3 (Liang Qinqing) Chongqing’s 2026 “China Charity Day” and “Chongqing Charity Week” themed activities were launched locally on the 3rd. Since the first "China Charity Day" in 2016, Chongqing has carried out the "China Charity Day" themed activities for 11 consecutive years. Including this centralized placard donation, a total of 826 caring companies, units and individuals participated in placard donations, with a cumulative amount of 4.716 billion yuan.
During this event, 105 caring companies (units) raised placards and donated a total of 423 million yuan, while 59 caring companies (units) and individuals who did not raise placards donated 14 million yuan. A total of 437 million yuan was donated in this event.
After the launch of this event, various districts and counties in Chongqing will carry out a series of themed publicity activities during the "China Charity Day" and "Chongqing Charity Week" in 2026. Each district and county will organize centralized publicity of the Charity Law, display of charity results, publicity of advanced charity models, etc., and carry out charity markets, charity sales, charity performances, charity evenings and other activities. Charity organizations in Chongqing will simultaneously carry out a series of charity activities and volunteer service activities such as helping the weak, caring for the elderly and children, assisting students, assisting doctors, and promoting employment of college students.
On the same day, the sixth membership meeting of Chongqing Charity Federation was held simultaneously. Xu Daiyin was elected as the Chairman of the 6th Board of Directors of Chongqing Charity Federation, and Yang Hongmei was elected as Chairman of the 6th Board of Supervisors.
It was revealed at the meeting that from 2021 to 2025, the Chongqing Charity Federation has raised a total of 4.195 billion yuan in funds and materials, spent a total of 4.148 billion yuan on various charitable aids, implemented 1,750 projects, benefited 3.59 million people at the grassroots level, and played an important supplementary role in assisting rural revitalization, disaster relief, and supporting the weak and needy.
Xu Daiyin said that in the next five years, the Chongqing Charity Federation will help consolidate the results of poverty alleviation in the field of rural revitalization; implement precise policies to care for the "elderly, small, and poor" groups to help weave a dense people's livelihood security network; respond quickly in the field of emergency rescue and help build a secure line of defense.
The Chongqing Charity Federation will follow the development trend of the digital era, promote the deep integration of charity with the Internet and big data, insist on developing Internet fundraising, and build a smart charity management platform; promote new business formats such as charitable trusts and equity donations, and expand new fundraising tracks; deepen Chengdu-Chongqing charity collaboration, actively link high-quality resources at home and abroad; make charity funds bigger and stronger, and build a stable, open, and diversified charity resource supply system.
