The 2026 International Cycling Union Women’s Road World Tour Tour of Chongming Island begins

China News Service, Shanghai, October 9 (Reporter Miao Lu) The 2026 International Cycling Union (UCI) Women's Road World Tour Tour of Chongming Island will kick off in Chongming, Shanghai on the 9th. The world's top female professional drivers from 14 countries including the Netherlands, Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States, France, and China gathered here to start a three-day speed competition.

This event is officially approved by the UCI and recognized as the top women's road cycling event at the 2.WWT level. The competitive specifications are the same as the three top multi-day events of the Women's Tour de France, Women's Giro d'Italia and Women's Vuelta a España. It is also the only women's road World Tour multi-day event in China.

There will be a total of 25 events in the 2026 Global Women's World Tour throughout the year. The Tour of Chongming Island Women's Road World Tour is the final event of the UCI Women's World Tour this season.

This event has three stages with a total mileage of 348.4 kilometers. The track covers 17 towns and villages in Chongming. It innovatively adds a special stage along the river embankment to integrate the original ecological riverside scenery into the professional competition venue.

She stood on the podium three times and won the first stage with a time of 2 hours, 34 minutes and 56 seconds. She successfully wore the yellow jersey representing the overall personal lead, and also won the green jersey representing the sprint king. The best polka dot jersey in the climb goes to teammate Lisa Van Baylor. Zhan Chunrui, a rider on the Badiri Blueprint Women’s Cycling Team from China, wore the white jersey representing the best youth.
