Universities of Tatarstan, Sverdlovsk and Rostov regions became leaders in enrollment of applicants in 2026

Universities of Tatarstan, as well as the Sverdlovsk and Rostov regions, became leaders in the number of enrolled applicants for budget and paid education at all levels of higher education, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation told RIA Novosti.

The rating was formed without taking into account Moscow and St. Petersburg.

Thus, according to statistics from the ministry, in Tatarstan the number of people enrolled in universities in the region for budgetary and paid education exceeded 36.7 thousand people, in the Sverdlovsk region - 34 thousand people, in the Rostov region - 33.6 thousand people.

In addition, over 28 thousand people entered universities in the Krasnodar region, and more than 27 thousand people in the Novosibirsk region.

The rating also included the Republic of Bashkortostan (26.3 thousand people), Samara Region (23.9 thousand people), Nizhny Novgorod Region (23.1 thousand people), Voronezh Region (20.6 thousand people) and Krasnoyarsk Territory (18.5 thousand people).

The 2026 admissions campaign will end no later than September 30, and admission to graduate school no later than November 30.
