Article 56 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on the Promotion of National Unity and Progress, which was officially implemented on July 1 this year, stipulates that the fourth week of September every year is National Unity and Progress Publicity Week. The first National Unity and Progress Publicity Week will be held from September 21st to 27th.
According to reports, the publicity week focuses on the theme of "promoting national unity and progress and forging ahead on the journey of great rejuvenation". It will carry out publicity and education activities on national unity and progress nationwide to promote the concept that "everyone has the responsibility to safeguard national unity and promote national unity and progress" to be deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
As an important part of the Publicity Week activities, a home event co-sponsored by the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Social Work of the Central Committee, the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People's Congress, the National Ethnic Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Justice, and the Beijing Municipal People's Government will be held in Beijing on September 21. The theme promotional video of the Publicity Week will be released at the site, launching the National Unity and Progress Initiative, launching the first batch of youth exchange plan activity brands of all ethnic groups, and focusing on displaying the achievements of the cause of national unity and progress. Across the country, centralized publicity will kick off through theme displays, typical lectures, artistic performances, physical exhibitions, and interactive experiences.
During the Publicity Week, the United Front Work Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the State Ethnic Affairs Commission and other departments and all parts of the country will organize and carry out activities such as ethnic theory and policy seminars, special demonstration lectures on the Law on Promoting Ethnic Unity and Progress, mass theme publicity and education, youth publicity and education, concentrated interviews and publicity, to create a strong atmosphere of unity and common prosperity and development for all ethnic groups.
