China News Service, Qufu, Shandong, September 29 (Sun Tingting Li Mingrui) From September 28 to 29, more than 340 guest scholars from 49 countries and regions gathered in Nishan, Qufu, Shandong Province. Focusing on the theme of "Civilization, Order, and Justice", they conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as the contemporary value of Confucianism and its significance in the world, the resilience of civilization and global governance, the dialogue of ideas and the integration of civilizations, and the integration of artificial intelligence and world peace. They discussed how civilizations dialogue, how order is constructed, and how justice is upheld, and a broad consensus was reached.
The two-day 2026 Nishan World Civilization Forum came to an end in Qufu on September 29. At the closing ceremony of the forum, the "2026 Nishan World Civilization Forum Consensus" (hereinafter referred to as the "Consensus") was released.
The "Consensus" points out that we should inherit the light of civilization and promote the common beauty of different civilizations. The diversity of human civilization is a basic feature of the world and the source of human progress. Every civilization in the world has its own value. There is no distinction between superior and inferior. They all enjoy the right and space for inheritance and development on an equal basis. We hope to uphold the concept of "harmony without diversity", advocate exchanges among civilizations to transcend estrangement, mutual learning to transcend clashes, and tolerance to transcend superiority. We hope to jointly safeguard the resilience of civilizations, promote equal treatment and mutual tolerance among different civilizations, learn from each other's strengths and complement each other's strengths, and continue to prosper the world's garden of civilizations.
The "Consensus" points out that we must maintain the foundation of order and advocate a fair and reasonable governance system. The century-old changes in today's world are accelerating. Unilateralism and power politics have seriously impacted the original order, and global governance is facing severe tests. Only when there is a way in the world can all countries be harmonious. The international order cannot be defined by a few countries, but needs to be shaped and safeguarded by all countries. We advocate the principle of mutual trust, trust and amity, and promote the global governance concept of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits. We look forward to practicing true multilateralism in international affairs, jointly participating in rule-making, jointly responding to global challenges, and jointly building a fair, just, equal and orderly new international order for global governance.
The "Consensus" points out that we should adhere to the principles of justice and promote the common values of mankind. "Establish the right position for the world and walk the great road of the world." Axioms are the value yardstick that maintains human society and are the foundation of international fairness and justice. The world needs justice, not tyranny. All countries and nations should respect each other and abide by justice. We advocate the common values of peace, development, fairness, justice, democracy, and freedom for all mankind, put justice before power and interests, insist that justice takes precedence over power, morality over self-interest, and promote the respect and protection of the basic rights and personal dignity of all mankind.
The "Consensus" points out that we should work together to pursue a path of harmony and promote mutual benefit and win-win results in global development. Harmony and symbiosis, the world is unified. Human beings live together on the same home planet. In the face of global challenges such as climate change, public health, and science and technology ethics, no country can develop alone or be immune. Only by adhering to mutual benefit and win-win results, abandoning confrontational games, and transforming mutual learning among civilizations, joint construction of order, and protection of justice into concrete actions can we overcome difficulties and achieve steady and long-term progress. We advocate the implementation of global development initiatives, global security initiatives, global civilization initiatives, and global governance initiatives, achieve mutual benefit and win-win results in pragmatic cooperation, achieve mutual success in healthy competition, properly handle differences while seeking common ground while reserving differences, build peace through accumulated mutual trust, and work together to build a community with a shared future for mankind.
