2026 Yunnan Nine Plateau Lakes Landscape League Dianchi Station was held in Kunming

China News Service, Kunming, September 27 (Shi Wenzhi) From September 25th to 27th, the 2026 Yunnan Nine Plateau Lakes Landscape League Dianchi Station (hereinafter referred to as the Dianchi Station) was held in Kunming. A series of events such as the 147-kilometer individual race and relay race around the Dianchi Lake, the 100-kilometer trail race around the Dianchi Lake, and the 3-kilometer and 7-kilometer experience races were fired one after another. Tens of thousands of sports enthusiasts competed around the lake to enjoy the beauty of Kunming's eco-tourism.

The Yunnan Nine Plateau Lakes Landscape League is an outdoor brand event created by the Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau based on the plateau mountainous resources, climate advantages and location endowments, using the competition as a medium, stringing the nine plateau lakes in Yunnan into a line, and setting up "water, land and air" multiple outdoor events such as running around the lake, cycling around the lake, sailing, and paragliding. It follows the layout of "nine stations in three years, starting from lake to lake, stringing beads into a chain, and making the whole area outstanding". The first stop will be held in Chenghai, Yongsheng, Lijiang in November 2024. It has now become a highly recognizable outdoor event brand in the province.

The Dianchi Lake Station is hosted by the Yunnan Provincial Sports Bureau and the Kunming Municipal People's Government. It is the final stop of the three-year event and the last stop of the Nine Lakes. The track relies on Kunming's Xishan Mountain, Dianchi Lake Greenway, etc. to create an exclusive green ecological scene with a length of 147 kilometers. It is currently the longest outdoor road running event in Kunming.

Among them, the individual competition is specially designed for hard-core outdoor enthusiasts, which comprehensively tests the players' outdoor competition time allocation ability, endurance and willpower. The 32-hour competition time allows players to explore the track in depth; the relay competition adopts a team collaboration competition mode of 4 to 7 people, taking into account both competitiveness and fun. It builds a sports competition exchange platform for the mass sports community and college students, and promotes the popularization of outdoor sports.

This site has simultaneously planned three "Travel to Yunnan with the Event" sports tourism routes, inviting athletes and their families to participate simultaneously to create a sports tourism route that can be watched and reproducible. They are the "Ancient Discovery on the Bank of Dian" cultural route, the "Seeing Jinning" ancient Dian civilization route, and the "Running Friends Songming Leisure Trip" route, which is suitable for diverse travel scenarios such as parent-child leisure, humanities research, and friends.

The event fully implements the "Jiuhu Runners Travel Plan", innovatively explores "number cloth rights", launches inclusive scenic area benefit policies and exclusive discounts, and realizes a sports travel scenario of "one person participating, family traveling, and multi-day stay".

The Caiyun Market, which gathers 47 merchants of professional outdoor equipment, sports supplies, etc., will run throughout the event, providing a display and sales platform for agricultural specialties and cultural creations along the Dianchi Lake. Huakaji Dianchi Market was launched at the same time, bringing together various types of authentic snacks, niche cultural toys, exquisite accessories, original handicrafts and other diverse business formats to create a sports consumption scene that integrates watching games, leisure, consumption and socializing.

Liu Xing, a 56-year-old Kunming runner who has been a full participant in the nine-stop competition for three years, said that the league has long surpassed the event itself and has become the unique outdoor feelings and dreams of Yunnan people, with both ecological value, humanistic value and heritage significance. "The final battle in Dianchi Lake coincides with the Mid-Autumn Festival, which gives the game a special meaning of 'double success'," he said.
